  • Invest time and resources in creating compelling thumbnails and visuals. Thumbnails are the first impression and significantly impact the viewer’s decision to watch a video. Top YouTubers like MrBeast spend substantial time and money on their thumbnails.

  • Ensure the first few seconds of your video deliver on the promise of your thumbnail. A strong, immediate hook is essential to retain the audience’s attention.

Adapt content to platform and audience:

  • Different platforms serve different purposes and audiences. For example, LinkedIn is ideal for B2B services, while TikTok and Instagram are more effective for consumer-focused products, particularly for younger audiences.

  • Understand the nuances of each platform. For instance, TikTok's algorithm favors individual posts, making it viable to gain traction quickly, while Instagram may require more investment in ads for broader reach.

Embrace diverse content formats:

  • Experiment with various content formats to find what works best for you. If videos aren’t gaining traction, try written content paired with engaging photos, or use audio content if you’re more comfortable speaking than writing or being on camera.

  • Use current events and trends to your advantage by creating content that leverages popular topics. Formats like green screen commentary on trending headlines can be highly engaging and effective.

Focus on self-awareness and authenticity:

  • Choose content that aligns with your strengths and interests. Success is more sustainable when you enjoy the content you create and are genuinely good at it.

  • Constantly reassess your strategy. If something isn’t working after consistent effort, don’t be afraid to pivot. Trying new approaches and formats can lead to unexpected success and keeps your content fresh and engaging.
